SS11 \ 21 BURNS
Spring Summer 2011 is Inspired from Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 2003 emotional drama called “21 GRAMS” which refers to a parapsychological belief about the weight of the human soul. It's used in the film as a metaphor for the fragility of life to which we responded with the textiles and the cuts. The collection visually explores the film in the form of color, scale and mood. Fabrics are all hand-woven using cotton, silk, high twist cotton and stainless steel and are engineered for the specific silhouettes. The collection speaks of a constantly evolving story much like human life. The garments are living entities of this reality; they are about easy transitions from traditional to contemporary. The approach is subtle yet logical and controlled.
